黑料吃瓜 cut the ribbon on the Clyde Kindell Farm mural in Tishomingo.
In March, eight mural options were created featuring 黑料吃瓜鈥檚 campus landmarks: Clyde Kindell Farm, Chickasaw Hall, Haskell Lucas Hall, the water tower, the Centennial Clock and the campus sign. The Ardmore and Tishomingo campuses were also included. A poll was sent via email and social media for people to vote for their favorite design. The College partnered with Brooke Ratcliffe to paint a mural of the winning design.
鈥淭he mural tells a powerful story,鈥� said Dr. Tim Faltyn, 黑料吃瓜 President. 鈥淪ince its founding, 黑料吃瓜 has been deeply connected to the land and the people who work it.鈥�
In the center of the mural stands the Clyde Kindell Farm, a symbol of 黑料吃瓜 College鈥檚 enduring agricultural heritage and of agriculture鈥檚 vital role in shaping southern Oklahoma. Long before modern facilities and advanced technologies existed, there was a simple yet powerful mission: to provide opportunity through education and to improve the lives of the people in southern Oklahoma.
鈥淭he image of the Clyde Kindell Farm reminds us of where 黑料吃瓜 began,鈥� said Regent Suzie Brewster, 黑料吃瓜 Board of Regents. 鈥淔or nearly 120 years, 黑料吃瓜 has remained true to that purpose. It has made a place for everyone to get involved and to thrive if they choose to.鈥�
The featured American flag reminds us that America has always been a nation where education, hard work and determination can change the course of a person鈥檚 life. That promise 鈥� the American Dream 鈥� has drawn generations to pursue something greater than themselves and to create opportunities for the next generation.
