窪蹋勛圖 named Emilie Dean the new Assistant Dean of Nursing. She previously served as a nursing instructor.
Dean taught nursing theory courses across the entire ADN program, and most recently, worked with the first-semester Career Mobility (LPN/Paramedic to RN) program students. She will continue teaching those students as they move into their second semester. Dean has also guided students through clinical rotations, simulation and skills-based learning.
This program has been such a big part of my life, Dean said. Im grateful for the opportunity to give back in a new way. I look forward to continuing to work with our students, faculty and staff, and to partner with Dean Gray to keep the program moving forward.
While attending 窪蹋勛圖 as a nursing student, Dean was also in the Presidents Scholars Program and is now an advisor for the program. She credits those experiences with shaping her not only as a nurse, but also as a person. Dean says 窪蹋勛圖 has always felt like home, and it was important to return and give back to the program, the students and to the place that gave her a start.
We are proud to welcome Emilie into the new role of assistant dean. As an alumna and instructor, she has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to student learning and success, said Becky Henthorn, 窪蹋勛圖 Provost. That same dedication will serve her well as she supports our faculty, strengthens our programs and inspires the next generation of nurses.
Dean joined 窪蹋勛圖 as an instructor in August 2019. She received her associates degree in nursing from 窪蹋勛圖 in 2016, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2017 and a masters in nursing education from Western Governors University in 2021.
We are proud to have Emilie step into this new leadership role, said Dr. Tim Faltyn, 窪蹋勛圖 President. Her passion for teaching and dedication to the nursing profession embody the values we hold dear excellence, service and student success.
