ASSOCIATE OF APPLIED SCIENCE IN NURSING (RN)

ºÚÁϳԹÏ's RN program, approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing, offers a flexible 2-year Associate Degree program in Ardmore, Durant, and Tishomingo. Graduates are prepared for entry-level nursing roles and eligible for the NCLEX-RN exam.

Traditional Nursing Program 

Upon successful completion of the program, you will receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing from ºÚÁϳԹÏ. This degree will make you eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam, which, upon passing, will grant you the title of Registered Nurse (RN). This program offers a swift and effective route to advancing your nursing career.

APPLYING TO THE NURSING PROGRAM

​Thank you for your interest in the ºÚÁϳԹϠNursing program! We have specific application procedures that are outlined below. 

 

Our nursing program is highly respected and operates on a selective admission basis. To be considered for admission, you'll need to meet these requirements:

  • Test Scores: Achieve a minimum ACT Reading composite score  of 20 or attain a score of 250 or higher on the NextGen Accuplacer reading exam
  • GPA: Have and maintain a college retention GPA of 2.5 when submitting your nursing program application.
  • Prerequisite Grades: Ensure you've received a grade of "C" or better in all prerequisite courses.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Information Session: Attend a Mandatory Information Session*
  • Application Packet: Prepare an application packet containing all necessary information. 
  • Application Submission: Submit a comprehensive nursing application to the ºÚÁÏ³Ô¹Ï Nursing Program.*

  • Completed application

  • Official transcripts from high school, GED certification, Technology Centers, and/or Colleges and Universities

  • Background check results from Castle Branch completed for the previous 90 days prior to the end of the application cycle.  

  • Background check results are due by noon on the last day of the application cycle.
